Vale a 'hot-spot' for Asian hornets, latest tracking indicates

Five female Asian hornets and a primary nesting site have been found in the Vale so far this year as part of the annual “Spring Queening”, island wide trapping programme designed to stop this invasive species from becoming established in Guernsey. The earlier strong north-easterly winds lead to an unprecedented number of Asian hornets being captured.
