L'Ancresse sea wall work starts

Tue 16 Apr 2024

Users of L'Ancresse are being warned that work has started – subject to tides – on the rock armouring that protects the former anti-tank wall at the popular bay.

It is being undertaken by Environment and Infrastructure and two elements are being undertaken simultaneously.

That on the boulders was originally scheduled for end of this month, but the contractor was able to start sooner, and users of the area over the weekend might have seen the excavator parked near The Beach House at Pembroke.

The boulder revetment works are addressing certain areas north of the L'Ancresse East slipway, where stone has either slipped or been dislodged by inclement weather.

The other works are addressing a void on one of the aprons along the Anti-tank wall.
