Wanted: your thoughts for new 'purple plantings'

Tue 26 Feb 2019

Feedback from parishioners to the purple crocus planting initiative that's helping to eradicate polio (details here) has been very positive, with a lot of comments supportive of what the Vale Floral Group are doing.

Members plan to extend the number of blooms in the parish so if anyone has any suggestions about further purple plantings this spring, please do contact Denise and Bill Cohu, who would be delighted to hear from you. They can be reached via [email protected] or by ringing the office on 244155. Its opening hours are: Monday - Friday 10.00 - 13.00.

Purple walk
Meanwhile, another parishioner has pointed out that the special crocuses are also growing alongside the footpath that cuts through from the Vale Parish Hall to La Nouvelle Maraitaine.

This means it's possible to enjoy a 'crocus walk', from the Vale Pond car park, turning in at old cemetery entrance at the Vale Church, up the hill to the church itself and then down to the car park. Along Ville Baudu past La Nouvelle Maraitaine on the footpath and possibly through the cuckoo lanes and back along Les Landes to Ville Baudu.

If you are tempted, please remember that the blooms don't last long...
